We have commenced taking enrolments for our Squad and Learn to Swim Programs in Term 3 2011 for children in Prep and upwards. Squad sessions are held in the morning and afternoon and Learn to Swim lessons are 30 minutes in duration on Wednesday afternoons from 3.15pm and Saturday mornings from 8.00am and held in the Sheldon College swimming pool. Some Learn to Swim children may be selected to participate in a Mini Squad program on Thursday or Friday afternoons. This program is in addition to their Wednesday Learn to Swim lesson.
All programs are conducted by fully qualified swim teachers and supervised by head swim coach Kerry Holland. They use specialized teaching aids to accelerate learning and enhance water safety. Kerry has more than 35 years experience in squad and learn to swim programs, from teaching beginners through to coaching elite swimmers. Children will enjoy learning in a relaxed and peaceful rural environment in a heated swimming pool, with plenty of hassle free parking for parents.
As an additional service for Prep-Year 1 Sheldon College students, stadium staff can collect those children enrolled in the Wednesday Learn to Swim program from their classrooms at the end of the Prep and Year 1 day. The stadium staff will then escort the children to the swimming pool, supervise their eating of afternoon tea and escort any children, who require it, back to After College Care. If this service is required, please complete the appropriate section on the Swim & Aquatic Renewal & Registration Form.
Assessments Children, who are new to the Sheldon College Squad and Learn to Swim programs, must be assessed prior to any lessons. Please contact Randall Gibson by email (
